of Boulder City, Nevada 1929 Thru June 1936 Compiled by

Judith Sattler Irons 2008, First Edition.

Comprehensive CD data base providing an invaluable genealogical tool to

individuals researching their family histories.  Provides detailed reference to the

source documents where additional information on the involvement of each

individual or buisiness will be found.  This saves the researcher immense amounts

of time and effort by not having to peruse these large volumes of material to find

information on who they are looking for.

Compiled over 14 years of research the data base also lists the names of

construction workers, pioneer family members, employers and jobs performed,

maiden names of women, companies associated with the Boulder Canyon

Project construction, businessmen and government officials associated with the

project, place names, construction camps, buildings and Dam special features.

Historical researchers provided a thumbnail snapshot of the area in and around

Hoover Dam and Boulder City, Nevada during this period of the Great

Depression. At 4500 pages, this database reveals the sheer scale of Hoover

Dam Construction employment nationwide.  The database recovers the history

of one of the nation's most important social, economic, and engineering

projects.  Supporting the value of the database is the extensive list of references

from which the material was drawn.

ALL-AMERICAN CANAL AND IMPERIAL DAM

BOULDER CANYON PROJECT

Judith Irons has spent 16 years compiling a overall snapshot of the Boulder Canyon Project. Her First Edition CD, "Hoover Dam Construction Workers and Pioneer Families of Boulder City, Nevada 1929 thru June 1936" takes in much more than the CD name implies.

The first CD encompasses the northern portion of the Boulder Canyon Project - Hoover Dam, Boulder Canyon Reservoir, Boulder City and Boulder Canyon Power Plant and Colorado River and its basin. The 4400 page CD lists Workers, Pioneer family members, Businesses, Businessmen, Government Officials and Companies involved in their construction. The CD also directs you to the source documents that detail the information provided so that researcher’s have easy access to information they are searching for.

The Second Edition CD will incorporate the southern portion of the Boulder Canyon Project. This will include the All-American Canal, Imperial Dam and Coachella Canal construction and planning. Land acquisitions for right of way and the Boulder Canyon Reservoir will also be included.

The public’s help is requested in collecting names of Workers, Government Officials, Companies and Businessmen involved in the construction of the All-American and Coachella Canals and the Imperial Dam.

If you (or a family member) was involved in this effort, or in the Hoover Dam construction, please contact Judith Irons via E-mail judyirons@msn.com or by mail:
